Congratulations to KDM Students of the Month, Landyn B. (2nd Grade) and Riley H. (3rd Grade). Landyn is always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and classmates and Riley spreads kindness to her classmates, consistently showing empathy towards everyone around her.

Mayor Joe Jackson hosted the ribbon cutting as our young entrepreneurs proudly opened their businesses to the public at the KDM TREP$ Marketplace Event. The TREP$ Program provides a powerful learning experience for our students where they develop entrepreneurial skills including business planning, marketing strategies, expense and income projections, product development, financial literacy, and sales.


A special thank you to the KDM staff along with the PTA for hosting another wonderful Family Reading Night. It was truly a joy to see students and parents working together and enjoying the activities in our classrooms.

The KDM hosted a wildly successful "Magic Within Us" Talent Show at CMS. KDM has talent!

The KDM Faculty and Staff Challenged the 5th Grade to a friendly game of basketball. A special thank you to Ms. Molloy for hosting a great event, the participating staff who are always great sports, Mr. T for returning as the honorary referee, and the parents and family members that attended, as well as those that were subbed into the game! Thanks for the reinforcement!
The Great Kindness Challenge is a dedicated week focused on fostering a culture of kindness on school campuses nationwide. KDM proudly participated in this proactive and positive initiative! Last week, students and staff showed tremendous enthusiasm and support by joining in our various spirit days and completing more than 430 Acts of Kindness. As a result, KDM is thrilled to be recognized as a Kindness Certified School!

Please join us in congratulating Xavion S., Eloise S., Luca F., and Janya R. for making KDM proud with their outstanding performances in the GFWC Woman’s Club of the Denville–Rockaway Area Annual Spelling Bee. A very special shout out to Janya R., who achieved an amazing second-place finish for KDM!




Mrs. Reilly and her Art Studio students recently completed their Wonderful Winter Mural. With materials generously provided by the PTA, their creativity and teamwork have made our school feel especially warm and welcoming. Thank you for adding such beauty to KDM! ❄️🎨

Parents and family members were invited into the classroom to take part in a shared learning experience with their students. Ms. Blue, Ms. Haas, Ms. Hempel, and Ms. Mojica facilitated an activity in which students presented decorated ornaments that represented their family traditions. The celebration continued as families worked with their student to create gingerbread trees, creating lasting memories. Kudos to our teachers, students, and families for coming together to build a more seamless school to home connection!



Congratulations to KDM student, RJ T., and his family who came up big with our Socks in a Box initiative by Rise Up Rockaway with over 200 socks. Together, we are donating over 1,000 pairs of socks to Rockaway residents who are struggling. Thank you to everyone who contributed socks.

A very special thank you to KDM PTA Parent, Lauren Farrand, and her incredible team for going above and beyond to make the first day truly special. From the festive balloon arch to the "red carpet" welcome, creative decorations, and cheerful back-to-school signage, every detail was designed to help our students feel seen, celebrated, and excited to be back at KDM.


KDM's Students of the Month are Zachary S. (2nd Grade) and Paulie G. (4th Grade). Zachary S. is a respectful and kind second grade student who consistently treats his classmates and teachers with kindness and respect. Paulie is a shining example of 4th grade excellence, consistently demonstrating all aspects of HEART each and every day. His kindness is truly contagious—he’s always smiling, using his manners, and spreading positivity.

"The second-grade students had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with Rockaway Township in planting 158 trees at the Hudsonia Wetland Area located across from KDM. With the support of parent volunteers, the students, Dr. Corbett, and the Township helped restore the Camp Hudsonia Wetland area with native plant species. April's Students of the Month are Madelyn T. (Kindergarten) and Emily P. (4th Grade). Madelyn is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates kindness and empathy in the classroom. Emily exemplifies HEART every day at KDM. Her genuine smile and kindness are contagious, and she goes above and beyond to make others feel comfortable.

KDM's Peer Mentors were honored at the April Board of Education Meeting for their compassion and commitment to fostering a positive school culture. These 15 students volunteered their recess time to support students with special needs. KDM's Autism Team presented their program, as well, in honor of Autism Awareness and Acceptance month.
